About the artist: Ashley Stewart

Charlotte native Ashley Stewart has always dabbled in art, but now pursues painting with greater devotion. The daughter of creative parents, she grew up in an artistic home and has studied with gifted and evocative instructors throughout her life.  When she is not working in her financial services business, she is happily painting in her garage studio. Her impressionist landscapes and abstracts are inspired by nature and by barnstorming drives through the countryside with her husband Charlie, who now nicely stops when she sees a photo opportunity. A gifted colorist, she slathers on rich hues and other media to create very tactile canvases. Sometimes, she just has fun mixing paints to see what colors happen. She has two amazing grown daughters who are both very creative and talented in their own artistic pursuits, two great sons in law, and two precious granddaughters.
