A little story about each style:
Peace: Our signature square matchbox featuring a blue line drawing of a dove surronded by gold foil stars and the words 'Peace on Earth'
Merry & Bright: Our signature sqauare matchbox featuring a bold pink background with the words 'Merry and Bright' in a red handwritten font and a red detail boarder.
Fern: The Fern design by Real Fun, Wow! is a best-seller round the clock. A master of the minimal, our good friend Daren Thomas Magee highlights the magic of nature with this gorgeous fern leaf and sun design. Printed on a vintage windmill press with gold detailing for some extra elegance.
Cheetah in Jungle: Cheetah in the jungle is a gorgeous design by our good friend and talented artist Ariane Butto. The cheetah slinks through a dreamy scene of palms, banana trees, bromeliads and carnaubas that look almost out of this world to bring some gorgeous green and gold-detailed rainforest dreams straight into your home space.
Ariane's Parrot: A gorgeous design by our good friend and talented artist Ariane Butto, the romantic Parrot sits coyly atop a pink branch with a look of love in his eyes and rosey red cheeks. Gorgeous shades of royal green and soft pinks make for one of our favourite luxury matchboxes of all - perfect to add some romance to any space.
Blue Floral: It's long been a dream of ours to collaborate with the incredible Wanderlust Paper Co., a fellow paper-lover and producer of beautiful illustration based in Hove, East Sussex. Finally, we are able to add to their stunning collection of matchboxes that celebrate the very best of Wanderlust Paper Co.'s work. "Blue Floral" is taken from their stunning Flora range, litho printed and finished with gold text, it makes a wonderfully romantic floral gift.
Charlotte Farmer Tennis: Our Charlotte Farmer collection is forever growing because in her, we have found an artist who shares our deep love and appreciation for vintage matchbox labels. Each new design she creates never fails to bring a smile to our faces and joy to our hearts: this clever play-on-words design brings a new life to tennis players.
Fancy Horse: It’s fair to say that when it comes to joyful and distinctive designs there aren’t many artists like The Printed Peanut. With a similar love of taking inspiration from old print ephemera as well as injecting humour into designs, we’ve collaborated with Louise Lockhart, the creative behind the business, to produce a fun and really rather striking range of matchboxes. Inspired by Mexican folk art, Louise originally created these designs using tomato puree tins and scissors.
One Tree Hill: The One Tree Hill matchbox design by Real Fun, Wow! is a best-seller round the clock. A master of the minimal, our good friend Daren Thomas Magee brings dreamy scenes of nature into the home with this gorgeous design.
Sasha the Cat: Designed By Richard Bawden, an English painter, printmaker and designer with a graphic, linear quality. His work includes book illustration, murals, etched glass church windows and doors, posters, mosaic and furniture. His work is in the collections of London Transport, the Tate Gallery and V&A Museum.
Two Peacocks: Cat, coffee, cardigan lover, Charlotte Farmer, is one of our favourite collaborations to date. Vibrant, dynamic... a little bonkers so perfectly "matched" with Archivist.
Duck: Quack, quack, behold the fantastic wonder that is "Duck" - a design straight out of our vintage matchbox dreams! Crafted with love and a little bit of mischief by the creative geniuses here at Archivist, this little gem is more than just striking - it's downright quackers!
Ariane's Green Tiger: A gorgeous design by our good friend and talented artist Ariane Butto, the stunning tiger dances through a dreamy botanical scene in fabulous hues of pink, orange and green. Perfect to add some romance to any space.
Christmas Peace: Prepare to be enchanted by the newest addition to the Archivist family: Jill Dunn! Inspired by the breathtaking beauty of her native Cornwall, Jill's work is a love letter to the natural world, celebrated through the art of relief printmaking. Her whimsical style breathe life into every creation. Peace matchbox, originally linocut, is a delight and is the perfect addition to our family of square matchboxes.
Spark Joy: After the popularity of our 'Spark Joy' design last year we've introduced it to our best selling square matchbox. A joyful festive phrase that is beautiful letterpressed and foiled. Designed by the creative minds at Archivist.
